Notes: My second contribution to seasonal_spuffy. It's been a long while since I made a music video, much less a Spuffy one. I hope it doesn't show too much. I set out trying to find the similarities between Buffy and Spike and what it took to get them together through the years. According to the dictionary, effigy means a representation of a person. But what we've seen shows that Buffy and Spike are so alike, no matter what they may think in the beginning. He's a vampire and she's the slayer meant to kill him. But it doesn't happen like that. They're similarities, and ultimately, their feelings for each other bring them together in ways we never saw coming. They're two sides of the same coin; both a representation of each other. They're both strong on their own, but together they're a force to be reckoned with. And that's how I wanted to show it in the video. I hope my message came through clear. I had the ending in my head from the very beginning and it was fun getting there in the process of making this vid.

A/N: For snowpuppies, who asked for a Faith/Dawn drabble. About a year and a half ago, only_passenger and I were messing around and decided to co-write, as an exercise, a series of related vignettes featuring Faith. This scene was one of those vignettes.
(She’s gotta say she’s impressed. The girl’s got moves. Sipping on her beer from across the room, Faith finds she can’t take her eyes off of Dawn grinding against Willow’s new prep-school, Richie Rich reject.)

Hi, folks! The mod kindly gave us permission to advertise a fun new community. Are you a fic writer for BtVS, AtS, or the comics and novelizations thereof? A beta reader? A plain old reader who is interested in the writing process behind the scenes of your favorite fics? Then please join us writing_buffy. It’s a ship-neutral, character-neutral community devoted to the writing process behind fan works in the BtVS and AtS corner of the Whedonverse. Het, slash, and gen writers/betas/readers are all warmly welcomed.

Regular features of the community will include:
* Open threads each week to discuss your writing (or lack thereof) with fellow creators. It’s like a support group, only much more fun!
* Occasional workshops. Interested fans will lead these occasional discussions of craft (eg, how to write a zippy action scene), characterization, or even the process behind well-known and well-loved pieces of fic.
* Community challenges. Every two to three months, members will be invited to participate in anonymous challenges where they will be asked to write short pieces using a particular writing skill (eg the piece must be in second person imperative, a gothic mood, etc.) The short fics will go up in one big, anonymous post which community members will use as a jumping-off point for discussion on the writing tool, the short fics, and anything else the exercise inspires.

I recently rewatched season 7 of BTVS and I am in love all over again. I had a really long psychobabble session of love last night, and you can read about it here. Hee! I just hadn't realized how good season 7 actually is in spite of the warts until I rewatched the eps and realized the many beautiful things about it. It's so much love!

As you probably know, this week we get to vote for someone to be on the LJ Advisory Board. It is doubtful that this person will have any power at all, but he or she *will* in all likelihood be able to influence things to some degree. And this is where we need to join together, because right now someone called jameth is one of the frontrunners. The problem is that he is (apparently) an anti-fandom troll, the last sort of person we want representing the average LJ user.

fandom_votes has a post here (and bookshop one here) going into more details, including the fandom nominees' platforms [note: By 'fandom nominees' I mean nominees that are in fandom. That doesn't mean that they have a fannish agenda]. Take a minute to go over there and have a look before casting your vote.
